On my latest Drivelapse project I traveled from Syracuse, NY to Texas for relocation to the beautiful city of Austin. Since I had all my belongings in my car I decided to drive non-stop with no sleep. It took around 34 hours to complete, only stopping for gas, food, bathroom breaks and walmart for industrial strength AA batteries to power my Canon 60D battery grip since all my regular batteries were already in Texas. I decided to try shooting out of the rear of the car to test this view for upcoming projects. I’m very happy with the results and as you can see in the video the day/night contrast worked well. I might shoot both front and back in the future so you can watch trips from both angles.

I recently returned from a 12,225 mile roadtrip around the United States. During my trip I summarized each day in photos using the iPhone apps “Picframe” and “Instagram”. When I was traveling in my car I was shooting photos from my Canon 60D every 5 seconds with an intervalometer. When I was parked for the night or exploring an area on foot I was constantly timelapsing. Below are the photos and videos from my journey:

ICE RACE

A short video highlighting the annual Ice Racing events that take place around various lakes in Upstate NY.

Having bought my new Canon 7D in the middle of winter and getting tired of testing it out inside, I seeked something fun to shoot in order to get more comfortable with the camera. Ice Racing was definitely the most exciting thing happening this time of year in Upstate NY.

I only managed to make it to two events and would of loved to have gotten more footage but warm weather ended the season prematurely. Luckily, I had enough shots from the two events I attended to make this short video.

This was my first video shot on the Canon 7D. I also used a Glidetrack to produce the slow dolly shots seen in the video. This video was featured on Planet5d and CanonFilmMakers websites.
