Sierra Cars on ICE!

After my Marfa by Motorcycle : 2019 into 2020 (and preparation for the journey beyond) adventure,  I was sitting at home on a weeknight, feeling a little complacent and too “normal” when I made an expensive but gratifying decision that I will never regret.

I grew up with snow and a frozen lake nearby for most of my life but never got to do anything as cool as I did on ice this weekend in Maine. Thank you @sierracars @racecole @texas_dave @rallyready @forest_duplessis and everyone else I got to know this weekend for such a kickass start to the year

When hanging out with Texas Dave at the Rally Ranch he told me there was an open seat to go hoon some 200HP, 900lb Sierra Cars on ice. I called Cole Powelson of Lyfe Motorsport and secured the last spot!

What followed was an unforgettable weekend on ice, in large part to Forest Duplessis and his family who not only accommodated us but helped create one heck of a track for the weekend on Songo Pond in Bethel, MA.

Overall I loved how much fun we were able to have without competition involved… just a bunch of motor freaks out on Ice driving sideways. I finally feel like I have a grasp on RWD now that I couldn’t find with the RX7 and Miata on Dirt/Pavement or the Vette in the wet… it honestly makes me want to try drifting now! Can’t wait to step into these things again someday, maybe on dirt or pavement – what a ride!
